Exciting Opportunity for Artists: "Illustrating History" Bench Art Competition

2013 promises to be wonderful year for the Richard T. Bowers Historic Tree Grove at MOSI, Tampa. Thanks to a generous Historic Preservation Grant from Hillsborough County, we will be improving the tree grove to include descriptive signs, themed gardens, and artwork interpreting the history of each tree.

We will be seeking art for each of our sixteen historic trees, giving multiple artists a chance to have their work featured in a public setting that sees up to one million visitors each year. At this time, we are soliciting submissions for two-dimensional visual artwork that will be printed on vinyl panels and mounted to benches accompanying each tree. One piece of art for each tree will be chosen by public vote, and the winning artists will be featured on our website, highlighted on social media, and included in press releases.

All submissions must be received by March 4, 2013. For complete details on this competition, including specifications like size and submission details, click here to view the Historic Tree Grove "Illustrating History" Call for Artists.
